One of the key motivation factors for young people getting involved in gangs is the financial hope they have been convinced can be made from the selling of drugs. This session explores "road economics" and the exploitation initiated by adults involved in organised crime.

Training: Gangs and Sexual Exploitation
Thursday 20th October 2022
Gangs and serious youth violence is often focused on the violence of young people being stabbed or shot, however if a young person is lucky enough to survive, the sexual violent experiences of both young men and women are missed. This session will explore the range of sexual activity from rape, exploitation, grooming and concealing of items some young people are made to endure.

Training: Media + Murder

Young people are regularly being influenced and nurtured by media campaigns aimed at glamourising violence. This is a multi-billion pound industry and is fast becoming mainstream. This includes music, films, video games and general fashion. This session increases our awareness as practitioners, looks at how we can challenge the impact and how we all increase our consciousness.

Training: Trauma + Adverse Childhood Experiences

Many of our young people have faced or are facing a range of experiences that can lead to trauma now or in later life. This course explores a broad understanding of trauma caused by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and its impact across the life course and practical ways to support children and young people to regulate and manage their own behaviour.
