Resident’s Event: County Lines and Your Community

County Lines is a term used to explain when children and young people are being exploited to sell and transport drugs in other other counties. It is a serious and growing problem and we need a whole community response

  • Anyone in the community who wants to learn more

Do I need to be part of a group to come?

No. This is open to anyone living or working in Enfield or Haringey.

What will happen at the event?

The first half is a workshop by Trainer Leo Powell. Leo is also a local resident, teacher and parent. His delivery is really easy to understand as he does these events regularly to parents, residents and young people.

The second half will be a question and answer session with Detective Inspector Lindsey Billany who is the County Lines lead for Enfield and Haringey Police and the event will be Chaired by Dr Victor Olisa a Selby Trust Trustee and former Police Borough Commander for Haringey

I'm really worried about issues on my road, but am worried if I am seen at this meeting - Can I attend anonymously?

Yes. Make sure you change your name before you enter. You can keep your camera off and no-one will be aware of who you are, not even the organisers or panellists

Can we ask questions?

Yes, we will be using the hands up function and you'll be unmuted to ask. You can also ask questions in the chat which we can read out or send some in advance if you do not wish to speak (email: seema@selbytrust.co.uk - please state in email if it you want your name mentioned, if not it will be anonymised).

What if I am concerned about my child or a child?

We will supply a list of contact details you can go to if you wish to discuss concerns about your child.

Is this event free?

Yes. It is fully funded by the Mayor of London as part of the Young Londoners Fund.

Do I have to pre-register?
